SGP Laminated Glass

Product Description
Instead of conventional PVB, SGP laminated glass is built around a structural ionoplast (SGP) interlayer. The result is a laminate that is both stronger and more rigid, five times tougher and up to 100 times stiffer, able to protect against bigger storms, larger impacts and more powerful blasts.
Once laminated, the SGP interlayer acts as an engineered component inside the glass, carrying more weight so the pane can play a more active structural role in the building envelope and give designers greater framing freedom. Glass thicknesses span 3mm to 19mm, SGP thicknesses are 0.89mm and 1.52mm, and jumbo sizes reach 3660x18000mm.
AUGTON GLASS provides factory-direct SGP laminated glass and works with architects and glazing system manufacturers to satisfy higher demands for security, energy efficiency, noise reduction and safety.
Key Features
- Structural SGP ionoplast interlayer, 5 times tougher and up to 100 times stiffer than PVB laminates
- Carries more weight after breakage, turning the glass into an active structural element
- Shields against bigger storms, larger impacts and more powerful blasts
- Greater framing system design freedom through larger unsupported panes and slimmer profiles
- Excellent post-breakage performance: broken panes remain in the frame
- Jumbo formats up to 3660x18000mm in clear and low iron glass

Optical Performance Parameters
SGP interlayer: structural ionoplast, available in 0.89mm and 1.52mm. Compared with PVB, SGP delivers 5x tear strength and up to 100x shear stiffness, enabling structural make-ups such as 8+1.52+8mm and beyond. Max size 3660x18000mm.
