Glass Balustrade & Railing
QR
Glass balustrades replace brick, wood and metal railings with toughened safety glass, opening up stairwells, balconies, mezzanines and walkways to light and view. Frameless versions with polished edges and slim handrails are the preferred choice for premium residential and commercial interiors.
Solution Overview
For balustrades we always use safety glass: heat-soak tested tempered glass, laminated glass, or a laminate of both. For high-rise and overhead positions, laminated glass is strongly recommended — if one ply breaks, the interlayer holds the panel in place and no debris falls on people below. Common build-ups are 10 mm monolithic tempered for low-rise interiors and 8+8 or 10+10 laminated for cantilevered and channel-set systems.
Panels are supplied with polished edges, and can be notched, cut-out or drilled for brackets, stand-off pins and handrail connectors to your drawings. AUGTON GLASS fabricates every balustrade panel to project dimensions, with load calculations and test reports available on request for building approval.
