Oversized glass fins are structural glass ribs that support façades, canopies and all-glass walls in place of steel — jumbo laminated sections up to 18 m long and 700+ mm deep that carry wind and dead loads while staying completely transparent.

Solution Overview

Fins are built from 3 to 5 plies of heat-soak tested low-iron glass laminated with stiff SGP ionoplast interlayers, so the section keeps bending stiffness even if one ply is damaged. Typical builds are 3×12 mm for 6–9 m spans and 5×12 mm beyond, with silicone-bonded connection plates pre-fitted at splice nodes.

AUGTON GLASS is one of few Chinese processors able to temper, laminate and edge-polish jumbo fins in-house, with vertical handling that avoids optical distortion. We supply fins with splice hardware, stainless base shoes and project-specific load documentation, packed in steel-framed crates for ocean freight.
