Product Description
Black tinted float glass starts as ordinary float glass with a colorant added during production. The additive transforms the transparent clear float glass into a low transmittance body tinted glass with a bright black color, suitable for automobile sunroofs, sidelites, architectural windows, curtain walls and more.
Transmittance sits around 10% for both visible light and solar energy, and the SC value is around 0.40, so the glass blocks about 50% of the solar heat that would otherwise enter a car — an energy saving and environmentally friendly result. UV transmittance below 2% protects organic materials and interiors from UV light for longer durability, while privacy is excellent: outsiders can hardly see through, yet passengers inside observe the outside without obstruction.
