Product Description
Known variously as double glazing glass, IGU or hollow glass, insulated glass is assembled from two or more layers of Low-E glass, clear or tinted reflective glass, or normal clear or tinted float glass. Aluminum spacers and sealants close off the cavity between panes, which is filled with dry air or argon. For safety, the glass layers are normally tempered or laminated.
Among processed glass products, insulated glass provides the most ideal heat insulation: the U-value is effectively reduced, sound in the 1000-2000 Hz band is dampened, room temperature stays stable when Low-E is used, and the dry sealed air cavity prevents condensation.
AUGTON GLASS builds custom IGUs to order, with glass from 3mm to 12mm, spacers of 6-19mm, argon filling and Low-E coatings, and exports them factory-direct to projects around the world.
Key Features
- Top heat insulation among processed glass, effectively lowering the heat transfer coefficient (U-value)
- Sound insulation: the dry air cavity efficiently blocks 1000-2000 Hz city noise
- Energy conservation: paired with Low-E and reflective glass, it holds indoor temperature steady
- Condensation control: the dry, sealed cavity keeps the glass free of fog
- Air or argon fill, aluminum spacers and dual sealants for durable sealing
- Safety options include tempered or laminated panes; special shapes are available
Applications
Architecture
- Windows & doors
- Facades
- Curtain walls
- Skylights
Energy Saving
- Low-E IGUs
- Solar control IGUs

Optical Performance Parameters
Typical configurations: 5+9A+5mm, 6+12A+6mm, 8+12A+8mm (A = air). Argon filling and Low-E coating further reduce the U-value to below 1.8 W/m²K — ideal for energy-efficient building codes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What thicknesses and sizes are available for Insulated Glass?
Insulated Glass is available in 3mm – 12mm. Jumbo sizes up to 3.66m x 12m are possible, and custom cutting to your drawings is supported.
Do you offer custom processing?
Yes. Accept customized IGU make-ups, gas filling & special shapes - just send us your drawings, sizes or special requirements.
What certifications do your products hold?
Our insulated glass has passed multiple international authoritative tests and obtained complete conformity certificates, including CE, ISO 9001 and RoHS by SGS. All products comply with GB/T 11944 and BS EN 1279, eligible for export to Europe, North America, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other regions.
How is the glass packed for export shipping?
