Product Description
Fused glass is the technique of layering thin sheets of glass on prefabricated moulds and firing them in a special oven, a kiln, at temperatures up to 800°C for hours at a time. A set cooling period follows, producing a finished product that is fully fused and strong.
Kiln casting opens techniques including fused glass, slumped glass and relief textures such as sand, relief pattern, cloud, stone, waves and water flow, over 30 unique textures in total. Tempering is possible for glass within 19mm thickness, and laminating two layers pushes thickness further.
AUGTON GLASS fires fused art glass in its own Chinese kilnworks and ships factory-direct worldwide. Custom colors come by way of tinted glass, painting or fused color, and the service adds drilling, hand polishing, bending, notching and shape cuts.
